Conjugating glycoside with amino acid: a strategy to develop new chelating
摘要:Chelation therapy is clinically used if the levels of heavy metals, such as lead, cadmium and platinum, in the blood are abnormal high. Most of clinically used chelating agents have side effects and a series of new chelating agents were investigated. To develop new chelating agents with minimal side effects the conjugates of saccharide and amino acids were discovered. This paper reviewed their potential of heavy metal intoxication in vitro and in vivo, as well as their effect on the levels of essential metals.
