Abstract In the present paper, porous hydroxyapatite (HA) microspheres were fabricated using gelatin as a pore-forming agent by spray-drying method. The mean particle size of the microspheres is about 7 ?m and the surface area is about 53.4 m2/g. The experimental results showed that the porosity of the prepared microspheres is higher and the pores are more interconnected compared with the microspheres obtained without any additives.
